Skelrigg stone circle, Keswick, Cumbria, England

Not a lot to say about this...

Except look out for  the New Age worshipper complete with modern devotional aid.

Part of the odd arrangement of stones to one side of the circle

How magnificent! I wish we had places like this state side. Though I will admit Ohio is beautiful in the Fall. Especially if you head up into the hills for the fall foliage.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Any Native American sites?

Possibly. Serpent Mound is a burial site in Bush Creek Valley. I've always wanted to go there. Have to make it soon though or it's no use getting there till late April.

I can see in the first photo that spring lamb is impressed.

What's the "modern devotional aid"? The sheep? Heh, I'm just curious because I couldn't spot it.

Sorry, I was trying not to offend anyone by being too specific. I believe he was smoking a certain substance.

Is Skelrigg another name for Castlerigg, or are they completely different sites?

I don't actually know. Possibly, though Skelrigg is the name on the road signs.

Sheep and Megaliths

I have a Megaliths and Sheep blog http://megaliths-sheep.blogspot.com/
Could I post some of these photos on the blog?
Best wishes from the Boyne Valley in Ireland,
Michael.

Re: Sheep and Megaliths

Certainly! Strange combination of interests if you don't mind me saying! I didn't think megalithic builders had sheep?

Re: Sheep and Megaliths

The Megaliths and Sheep blog is just for fun, I noticed that sheep are often to be found at megalithic sites so I decided to set up the blog. How would you like the photos credited and will I link back to http://community.livejournal.com/placeofworship
Regards,
Michael.

Re: Sheep and Megaliths

I have posted 3 of your photos to my Blog (http://megaliths-sheep.blogspot.com/), each photo links back to this page by clicking on the photo. It seems that Castlerigg is the name of the Stone Circle, couldn't find any reference to Skilrigg.
Regards,
Michael.

Yes sorry about that. Apparently I've had too any hits on my photobucket account. They will reset themselves in a few days and the images will come back. If I get time before then, I'll try and find somewhere else to post them and edit the links. Technology, uh!
